1. What is Trust3.0?
We are a data privacy advocacy group that aims to create a safer digital environment for all, where individuals can exercise their right to privacy and security online without fear of exploitation or intrusion.
2. Who is behind the Trust 3.0 movement?
We are a diverse group of technologists, policy leads, entrepreneurs, and privacy specialists. We came together because we believe that data privacy is a fundamental right that is at huge risk during the age of AI.
3. What is the purpose of Trust 3.0?
Our purpose is to raise awareness and promote online privacy and to advance the education of the public in the subject of digital privacy. To do that we engage directly with brands to develop and improve consumer privacy protections and coordinate efforts to safeguard personal data by offering accessible and comprehensive resources.
4. Is Trust 3.0 a nonprofit organisation?
Our charitable status is pending approval from the Charities Commission as soon as we submit, Trust 3.0 will be a nonprofit organisation, registered in the UK.
5. How can I participate in Trust 3.0?
In order to participate in Trust 3.0 you must be invited by a member of the organisation. Alternatively, we also accept a limited number of applications per year. If you wish to be considered please send us an email at memberships@trust30.org with your profile (ideally also Linkedin/Twitter or similar social profile)
6. Do I have to pay to participate in Trust 3.0?
To become a member there is a small annual subscription fee that covers the administration costs of new members. The member or trustee that has invited you will be able to tell you more about that annual subscription cost.
7. How can I connect with other Trust 3.0 participants?
Once you become a member of the organisation, you will be invited to our charity's Slack where you can connect with other members. Please reach out to us via email at contact@trust30.org and use the subject “New member registration” together with a short bio about yourself and your motivation to join.
8. Are there any special requirements or considerations for corporations who want to participate in Trust 3.0 events?
As a nonprofit data privacy advocacy group we have a strict vetting process for organisations who want to sponsor our events.
9. Can I share my experiences at Trust 3.0 events on social media?
We take people's privacy very seriously. Please make sure you have acquired written consent (in any form) from other participants before sharing material that includes them.For in-person events, we shall provide “camera shy” pins upon attendance.
People will be able to wear those pins to signal they do not want to appear in photos, social media posts etc. We expect all attendees and members to respect that decision.
10. What is the format of Trust 3.0 events and how long do they usually last?
For the time being we are using a symposium format where there is a key theme for every event and an expert speaker on that theme who introduces the topic and its nuances in 10-15 minutes. Following that, the event is free-form to allow people to hop in and out of conversations and exchange ideas. Certain events might involve roundtable discussions. If that is the case participants will be informed beforehand.
11. Are Trust 3.0 events open to anyone, or are they geared towards a specific audience?
While our events are not geared to a specific audience. For the time being, attendance is by invitation only. If you wish to learn more about how to join one of our events, please contact us at contact@trust30.org
12. Are there any opportunities for corporations to participate in Trust 3.0 events?
We welcome privacy sensitive corporations to become sponsors to our events. In order to become a sponsor, a member of our team will ask you for supporting information and will potentially ask clarification questions.
13. Can corporations customise or tailor Trust 3.0 events to fit their specific needs and goals?
Regular event topics/themes are selected by Trust 3.0 trustees and members. Nevertheless, if you are interested in hosting an event to champion privacy for your organisation and its network, please reach out to us at events@trust30.org and we will get in touch with you asap. Please make sure you mention as much information as possible that will help us respond to your query effectively.
14. How can I support the Trust 3.0 movement?
If you wish to support the movement you can do so by donating to our cause. For the purpose of transparency related to the operation and goals of the organisation, we currently only accept individual donations.
15. Can corporations bring their own facilitators or speakers to Trust 3.0 events?
Depending on the type of event, organisations might be able to bring their own speakers. A member of our team will be able to share more specific information on certain events upon request at events@trust30.org
